A Better Way to Inspect Your Property

Inspections are one of the most important touchpoints between owners, tenants and property managers. They shape trust, set expectations and help keep homes in great condition.

Previously, property inspections were completed using mobile phones, requiring our property managers to take several individual images to capture each corner of a room. This process would take around 15 minutes for a typical apartment, while a 4-bedroom home could take up half an hour. The reports generated from these inspections would often be unnecessarily long, requiring owners to piece together individual images to understand the full condition of each room.

We have now invested in Insta360 camera technology, which is mounted on a tripod and placed in the centre of each room. In under a minute, a full 360-degree image is captured and ready to use, allowing our property managers to move efficiently through the inspection. Each room is documented in a single interactive image that can be rotated, zoomed in and zoomed out, giving a complete view of the space. This technology also allows the manager to take an individual close-up photo using their mobile phone or other device and then load this into the virtual walk-through.

From an administration perspective, reports are faster to complete and more accurate. Our team can easily identify where issues are located and track changes over time. The feedback from our owners is that reports are quicker to read, easier to understand and offer a clearer picture of their property’s condition.
