3 things to do in Canberra before the warm weather ends

We hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the warmer weather will be coming to a close in the next few weeks.  Have you made the most of your sunny holidays? If not, don’t worry – there’s still time to get out there and enjoy yourself.

Here are three things to add to your bucket list before the weather cools down.

1. Get that last scoop at Frugii

Does anything say summer quite like ice cream? We don’t think so.

To make sure you get the full experience this season, head into Frugii to get your last cone – or sundae, or dish, whatever your heart desires!

Our advice? Branch out. At Frugii, you can get an insane variety of flavours, from hazelnut pavlovas to New York cheesecake, lemongrass and spiced pumpkin.

2. Pack a picnic at Lake Burley Griffin

Okay, well maybe one thing does say summer a bit more and that’s picnics in the park.

Directly in the centre of Canberra, Lake Burley Griffin has it all: water sports, recreation areas, fishing and, of course, plenty of places to sprawl out and enjoy a packed lunch.

Burn it off afterwards by completing the hour-long bridge to bridge walk between Commonwealth and Kings Avenues.

3. Let out your inner child at Big Splash

We know the kids have already gone back to school, but what’s keeping you from having some adrenaline pumping fun at Big Splash Waterpark in Belconnen?

Trust us, there’s plenty here for everyone – from a massive inflatable playground to a huge assortment of waterslides.
